Large Commodity Markets

Benzene, toluene, and xylenes ("BTX") is a $100 billion global market historically growing at rates above global GDP. These are three of the seven primary chemical feedstocks used by the chemical industry to make an array of products such as automobile tires, nylon, laundry detergent, polyester clothing, and packaging. Unlike ethanol, BTX has functional usage that makes it worth a substantial premium above its energy value. In addition, equally significant volumes of toluene and xylenes are blended into gasoline to boost octane ratings. Beyond Biomass to AromaticsTM, Anellotech can apply the technology to produce green transportation fuels, olefins and BTX derivatives.
